Welcome Back to My Channel

Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. This is USA. So guys, about the job search strategy which got me a job in, yeah, 10 days. I know it’s hard to believe, right? Who gets a job in 10 days? But I did, and, but this was after me applying to more than 1,300 applications.

Five Leads Within a Week

I have been looking for a job for more than a year, and finally, exact strategy because of which I was able to get not just one, two, but five leads within a week, within a week. I mean, say so, guys, if you’re job searching right now, you should definitely watch this video, and if you’re an international student, then you should definitely, definitely, definitely, definitely watch it. Please do so.

How Do You Find the Right Hiring Manager

Basically, how do you find the right hiring manager? What is the message which I sent them, and strategy, how is it more effective? How is it more efficient in terms of time, in terms of, like, you know, the right person? So I’ll just touch base, and yeah, I’m going to show you my entire workflow, and my off everything I would like cover in this video.

Why Does Most of the Times Outreach Doesn’t Work

So guys, are you ready? Are you ready? You’re not. Are you? So let’s talk about why does most of the times outreach doesn’t work. Firstly, everyone knows that you’re supposed to reach out. You’re supposed to expand your network.

We Are Doing It Very Broadly

All of the people who are, like, applying right now, everyone knows how we are supposed to, you know, reach out to the hiring manager, VPs, directors, Cal, and everything, right? The problem is we are doing it very broadly. We are just hoping he’s the person who going to hire.

Firstly, We Are Just Assuming

Okay, I’m reaching out to this person at this company for this department, and I’m just going to hope I think department, and he must be the person, right? So there are a couple of things along with that. Firstly, we are just assuming.

A Couple of Things Wrong with This Outreach

Second thing would be, even if he’s hiring, what if, like, you know, the timing is wrong, as if, as in, as in, like, you know, but probably, like, again, you have this gap. Third thing would be, what if, like, that person likes your profile, but he doesn’t own that role? So there are a couple of things wrong with this outreach.

Who Is Hiring Right Nowjob search strategy

What you should be doing instead is that, you know, instead of, like, you know, hoping that this person will hire me, you should change your strategy from that to whom I should be reaching out, who is hiring right now for the role that I actually want to apply for. So once you, like, shift this mindset, how much difference it makes, and now I want to, like, talk about what do I mean by that and what is the exact strategy which I follow for this.

Open Your LinkedIn

Well, I think it’s time to share my job search strategy. So the first thing that you’re going to do is you are going to open your LinkedIn, and LinkedIn you are going to search for the position that you’re interested in. So guys, first of all, be it data analyst, business analyst, product manager, software developer, it depends on you.

Type Data Analyst

I am going to search for data analyst because that is the domain that I’m interested in. So type data analyst, and once you click on the search bar, so you have multiple tabs, right? Jobs, people section, post section, different sections, right?

We Are Interested in the People Section

So what we are going to do is we are interested in the people section. I’m not looking for more jobs. I’m just looking for the people who are in this domain, right? And once you click on that, you’ll get a list of people who are that, who are there in that domain.

The Tab Which Is Actively Hiring

And the second thing that you’re going to do is, if you have premium, then tab which is actively hiring. So again, you are not going to keep that tab empty. What I’m going to do is I’m going to list down all the versions of data analyst. First of all, what do I mean by that is basically different companies have different titles for the same role.

Strategy Analyst or Healthcare Analyst

Let’s say, um, my company will have data analyst as the position, but if I’m applying for a similar role at a different company, let’s say at company B, uh, at Google, uh, the role, uh, must be strategy analyst. If I’m applying to UAG or some other company, CVS, so the role would be healthcare analyst.

List Down All the Titles

So again, you have to, like, list down all the titles. So in case of data analyst, you have, like, multiple titles such as data analyst, business analyst, reporting analyst, marketing analyst, growth analyst, reporting analyst, PI developer, strategy analyst, and many more list.

I’ll Also Share My List with You Guys

I’ll also s-, I, I’ll, I’ll also share my list with you guys, directly copy paste, and what will happen is, based on that list, you will get another list of people, which is basically filter, and you’ll only find those people who are actively hiring right now.

You Also Have to Mention the Location

Another thing which is very important is, basically, you also have to mention the location. It shouldn’t happen that, so in my case, I just used to put USA, and what used to happen is, basically, USA, be it directors, VPs, senior manager, senior analyst, whosoever is hiring for any of those roles, that is the second step.

Pull the Entire List

So guys, everyone is hiring for one of the roles, and what you’re going to do is you’re going to pull the entire list, and prof-, and if it aligns with your interest, if it aligns with the experience, uh, in terms of number of years and with your text and domain, everything, you’re going to check on that.

A List of 250 Such People

And the next thing would be, let’s say I got a list of 250 such people. Out of those 250 people, I search for key domain, who are the people who are hiring, uh, or who are looking for people with 2 years of experience, one year of experience, graduates, and, u, based on that, I started reaching out to them.

The Quality of the Message

So again, when you’re reaching out to them, one more thing that I’ve seen is based on, like, uh, like, I spoke to, like, more than, like, 10, 12 people, and, uh, one of the things which I found out was that, you know, firstly, right now everyone is kind of, like, sending those reach out messages, but one thing that matters is, like, the quality of the message, because everyone knows right now message, and because of which it kind of, like, seems very repetitive, uh, and it’s also very evident, because I don’t think, like, if I’m on the receiving end, I would like to read a message which is, like, you know, three paragraphs long, and that’s why I kind of, like, made this decision.

That Has to Be Organic, That Has to Be Short

The first message, when you’re, like, sending the connection request message, that has to be organic, that has to be short, exact messages for the ones which I had a high response rate, usually open for which I used to get, like, you know, connection request used to get accepted. So description section, for sure. So that is one more thing that I wanted to highlight.

Why Do You Just Want to Paraphrase Your Entire Resume

Second thing, why would you want to, like, just paraphrase your resume into that message? Next step. So why do you just want to, like, paraphrase your entire resume in that same message again? The person is going to read the same thing twice. Why? Why?

Three People Mentioned They Don’t Sponsor

And so, before I start sharing my story, numbers, out of which I got a response, I think, and out of which five were kind of interested in me, out of those five, three people, uh, they mentioned that they don’t sponsor, so, and I started interviewing for those two positions.

Just 11 Days

That was April 21st, and I had my offer letter, I think, on 1st of May. So just 11 days, 10 to 11 days, you can see, and second, first offer letter, I’m like, I’m just done, I don’t want to continue, I’m happy with that. So guys, reach out story.

Katherine Hiring Tag Was On

So 250, out of which one of them was my hiring manager, Katherine, and, uh, Katherine hiring tag was on. So if you have your hiring tag on, so you don’t have to do extra research, and description, and that position is one year old, and I was like, I should still take my shot, because if her hiring tag is on, maybe, maybe, who knows, right?

If I Do Take a Shot

And I mean, if I don’t take my shot, but if I do take a shot, and what if, like, it works, works for me, right? I sent her a message, and I was like, “Hey, Catherine, I came across your post, and, uh, I’m graduate, 2 years of experience, and how it aligns with my experience, and if you’re still reviewing candidates, I’m interested. And if there’s a fit, let me know. Happy to share my resume. Happy to have a chat.”

My First Virtual Chat with Her

So that was, uh, on the second or third day, I think first day, but mostly everyone on LinkedIn, and I think second, I think connection request and conversation, and, um, I think about next week, Wednesday or Tuesday, I had my first, uh, virtual chat with her, as in, like, a coffee chat.

Turning Out to Be an Interview

This is going to be more of, like, a coffee chat. This is, uh, you know, turning out to be an interview. It was supposed to be a 45 minutes of call, but it actually went for, like, I think 1.5, I think. So I think probably, like, 1.1, 1.5, or 1.25, and which we discussed about it, kind of, like, started with Arizona and New York.

Are You a Mumbai Guy

So Phoenix, so we were talking more about weather and New York. We were doing a comparison, and, like, one more, uh, interesting thing happened, that was, like, uh, Katherine asked me, are you from, mention, I’m from Mumbai, and she’s like, are you a Mumbai guy?

She Has Been Learning Hindi

So firstly, if an American is saying Mumbai, I, I, I wouldn’t expect them to know that word, more of, like, a slang word. So I wouldn’t really expect, and from there I got to know that she has been learning Hindi, and she has been learning about her culture and everything. So conversation kind of, like, started, and I was like, oh wow.

That Was Our First Conversation

So conversation, we kind of, like, directed it towards the technical part, where she started asking me all the questions related to data, related to, like, statistical analysis, and so that was our first conversation. Our day set up.

Purely Wasted

I gave three interviews with the engineering leader, operations director, and, uh, two people, two product managers, because those loops actually went for, like, more than, like, 2 months. Purely wasted.

I Got My Offer Letter

And then came this opportunity, literally thus first reach out, verable offer within 10, 10 days, and I just had to wait for, like, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, final confirmation, I got my offer letter, and, oh my god.

10 Days, Five Leads, Two Interviews, One Offer Letter

So guys, do try this strategy. I know, I don’t want to, like, you know, stretch this video, and leads. So 10 days, five leads, two interviews, one offer letter. That’s it. That’s it.

Please Like, Share, and Subscribe

And I’m, I’m pretty sure. So guys, please like, share, and subscribe, and thank you for watching, and so, next week. Okay, goodbye.

Each heading is created exclusively from words found within its corresponding paragraph, while the paragraph content remains completely unchanged.

I only changed capitalization in the headings. Your message ended before the actual title for the title prompt, so send the title you want converted and I’ll work on it.
